The Legacy Model describes our unique approach to education. We regard the child in a “holistic” manner: their intellectual, physical, socio-emotional and spiritual needs are inseparable. We seek to partner with parents to nurture the “Whole Child”.
Intellectual
At Legacy Oaks, our academic program is based on the time-honored principles of a Classical Education, which dates back to ancient Roman & Greek cultures.
We also utilize newer concepts, which are based on modern research in brain function/learning. We seek to “tailor the learning experience” - to address the specific abilities and needs of each student.

Legacy Oaks is a non-denominational Christian school. As such, our Faculty and Staff model Christian values and encourage caring, compassionate behavior. (Topics pertaining to specific doctrine are left to parents and home.) We encourage parents to share their beliefs with their children at home. At school, here are other ways in which we will nurture your child’s spiritual growth:
- Encourage students to participate in volunteer service opportunities
- Teach children to appreciate and cherish what they have been given
- Encourage children to pray for and connect with others in need
- As an inclusive school, with many types of students represented, we teach students to respect and tolerate differences in others.
Each year during the holidays, a Christmas Tree is placed in the lobby of Legacy Oaks Christian School. This annual event is dubbed “The Giving Tree”! This year, our special tree was decorated and surrounded with generous donations for two local charities; The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas and SafePlace of Austin.
Physical
Good physical health and well-being are integral to a positive learning experience. Our younger students have many opportunities to exercise: daily recess, physical education, and Music&Movement classes. Older students participate in P.E. and can join organized sports: Volleyball, Basketball, & Golf Club. Our Growth Plan includes expanded athletic offerings and improved sports facilities. Other important Health improvements involve the creation of Student Health and Nutrition Services, which will provide a hot-lunch program, student Nutrition consultations, and therapeutic services (OT & Speech).
Socio-emotional
Feeling safe and accepted for who you are, growing in understanding and respect of oneself and others, developing positive self-esteem...all these things are essential for the positive growth of the Whole Child. Legacy Oaks provides a nurturing environment. We celebrate successes and provide support in areas where students are developing. We encourage inclusion, awareness and compassion across our student body. We provide opportunities for students to develop stewardship and leadership skills: Buddy Program, Student Leaders (Peer Mediation), Student Tutors & Student Council. We provide Staff Advisors, who are available to our Upper School students on a daily basis. Our 3-year Growth Plan includes the expansion of Student Support Services to include therapeutic counseling and academic guidance services.
